Pearl Quality
White South Sea pearls are graded using a four point scale from "A" to "AAAA." The Pearl Source does not sell pearls that are graded "A" and "AA" due to the low quality. We only sell multicolor South Sea pearls that are graded "AAAA" and "AAA." Pearls graded "AAAA" have a very high luster quality and are nearly flawless with 95 percent of the surface free from blemishes and imperfections. Pearls graded "AAA" have a high quality luster, and their surfaces are 80 percent to 85 percent free from blemishes and flaws. That means that when you buy a pearl necklace from The Pearl Source, you are guaranteed to get a high quality pearl necklace.
Pearl Sizes
We sell multicolor South Sea Pearls in a range of sizes from nine millimeters to 14 millimeters in diameter. Most pearl necklaces are crafted using pearls that are between 10 millimeters and 12 millimeters in size. Any pearl below 10 millimeters in diameter is graded as being small while any pearl over 13 millimeters is considered large and rare because it is more difficult to find pearls that are over 13 millimeters in diameter.
