*Women over 60 have a wonderful sense of style.

They know what designs like, what colors look best) and fashion trends that truly flatter their body. With this knowledge comes the ability to wear clothes and accessories with the utmost of confidence.

Tunics are a wardrobe essential; choose from bright color or basic neutrals, animal prints, stripes, color blocking and floral prints. Pair with slim pants or leggings; velvet leggings are huge this season. Also look for fitted sheath dresses, plaid coats and cardigan sweaters in a huge range of fabrics and colors. Fashion has never been this much fun!*

Two secrets for fashion over 60…:

There are two secrets for women over 60 who want to look stylish and not silly: accessories and fit.

And once in a lifetime, you find the one must-have item for your wardrobe that gives you the flexibility of both. That item is Tucktails.

Tucktails are long-back camisoles that stay tucked. They’re a smooth weave, so they don’t ride up, twist or bunch. You want to wear the latest trend, slouchy jeans, but don’t want to flash your butt when you sit? Tucktails wants you to sit with us.

Like the look and fit of swing tops, but don’t want to expose too much when bending over or caught in a breeze? Tucktails has your back.

Need a camisole that goes from extra layer under a cardigan during the day to a great shell for the evening? Tucktails has you covered.

Oh, and did I mention they’re quick-dry – so you won’t sweat? Available in sizes S-XXL, and in four colors, there’s a Tucktails for every woman.

Fashion trends for over 60:

Here are my two cents as someone who is 73, There is no need to have anything but an elastic waist. There are sophisticated clothes that are comfortable
Be 75 percent classy and 25 percent hip and bold.

Jewelry and shoes are the places to have fun. Or follow trends as the add-on to classy, so, for instance, use an asymmetrical jacket or a big zipper on a top. Go loose, not tight. Use bold colors. Be careful with the flowery prints.

Don’t follow trends. Make yourself your own brand. I’m known for red shoes, geometric bold jewelry and a dash of whimsy. I use light touches of any trend to stay current, IE.. lace, animal print, etc…

Fashion trends over 60 – shoes with a slight heel:

Walking with heels on can give you confidence like no other item of clothing can, but women over the age of 60 often shy away from heels as they’re scared of either looking like they’re trying too hard, or they’re worried that they’ll injure themselves.

You can easily avoid either of these mishaps by opting for a pair of shoes with only a slight heel, which will give you the long leg look and confidence that you crave, without the instability of longer heels.

Fashion Trends Over 60

Hello Kiesha!

I wanted to introduce you to Eyebyedirect.com. With frames starting from as little as $6, the company makes it possible to build a diverse eyewear collection. The company can keep prices low as they control the entire process- from concept, design, to manufacturing.

EyeBuyDirect’s in-house brand, RFLKT, boasts their most fashionable frames with a minimalist aesthetic, while new collections are added regularly to keep customers up to date with the latest trends in eyewear.

We thought the following quote from brand manager Johnny Lee would be a great fit for your story:

“Vision changes occur as you get older, but women over 60 can look fabulous at any age with trendy, semi-rimless eyeglasses. Choosing the right frames for your reading glasses can take years off your face, making your appearance more youthful and stylish at the same time. Classic and lightweight, semi-rimless styles are timeless and forever in fashion. From golden to blue to gray, these frames still show a little bit of personality, but with a more mature and sophisticated element.”

Johnny Lee, brand manager and style expert for EyeBuyDirect.com.

Fashion Trends Over 60:

Many fashion trends are aimed at younger generations, such as Millennials. But, women over 60 love fashion too. What are some fashion trends for women over 60 that we simply must write about?

There is something quite wonderful about turning the big 60, time may have softened the body, but the mind is sharp. Filled with wisdom and wonder these ladies in their ‘Sophisticated Sixties have been primed. For the first time in their lives they are living for themselves…not their husbands, their children or what society says they should be.

Many are well traveled and well versed in life and when it comes to building a fashion wardrobe I say Dress the Fat You Got also known as the all too negative belly fat, thunder thighs or underarm flab.

Fashion trends for women over sixty:

Wear swings tops and tunics with asymmetrical hemlines; they hide belly fat and cover your derriere

  • Add short shrug jackets in great colors and patterns over sleeveless dresses and tops
  • Pair interesting bottoms with funky details paired with to your tops and great jackets
  • Mix colors, textures, and patterns to create bold new looks
  • Find a funky fedora hat (also great for bad hair days)
  • No more high heels? …up your shoe game with great flats in colors, fabrics, and textures
  • Add flair with bold, interesting accessories in brushed metals, tassels, fringe and mixed media
  • Don’t forget to add Color, Color, Color…Red, Royal. Citron and Paprika
